New announcements...
  • Implementation Strategies Meeting (ISM) -
On September 27-28, 2016, the ID&R Office participated in the annual ISM. This event serves to disseminate updates and provide guidance on a number of critical topics that relate the the Migrant Education Program (MEP). The materials that were presented are now available on the FL Recruiter website. To access the downloadable files, please visit the ISM webpage.
  • New Staff -
The ID&R Office is pleased to announce that Mr. Jose Sanchez has been hired as a roving recruiter. Mr. Sanchez worked for many years with the Manatee County Migrant Education Program. His primary role will be to assist districts in the identification and recruitment process. Please contact our office if you would like his or any of our staff's assistance in your ID&R activities.

  • Updated ID&R Manual -
The FMEP ID&R Manual was revised July 2016. The downloadable copy as well as the list of changes are on the Guidance from the ID&R Office webpage.
  • Revised Re-Interview Form -
All districts should be using the 2016-17 re-interview form when conducting rolling re-interviews.
  • Hotline Promotional Materials -
As you begin to gear up for the 2nd semester, you may be planning to hold events (such as weekend health fairs) to engage the migrant families and youth in your community. Remember to use these events to share information about the Migrant Education Hotline. The Hotline (800-234-8848) is a free resource that can assist migrant families by finding local schools and other services as they travel to other districts and states. To obtain free promotional materials, please use the request form available on the webpage.

Still accepting...
  • Qualifying Activities Chart -
Thank you to the 20 districts (AMCC, Collier, DeSoto, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Hillsborough, Lake, Lee, Madison, Manatee, Marion, Miami-Dade, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, PAEC, Palm Beach, Polk, and Suwannee) that submitted their revised 2016 Qualifying Activity Charts. If you do not see your district on this list, we will still accept revised charts. The ID&R Office maintains this valuable information for district (and other state MEPs) to use to corroborate possible eligibility information during initial interviews and re-interviews. Please contact Margot Di Salvo via email ( for any questions you may have regarding the charts.
  • Preschool Initiative (PI) Directory -
During the ISM, we presented information regarding the Preschool Initiative (PI) Consortium and the FL Pre-K Task Force; visit the newly created Pre-K Task Force webpage for more on these efforts.
  • As a follow up, we asked that districts take a few moments to enter information specific to your local MEP that relates to pre-k services to a directory we hope will become a useful resource. Thank you to the 12 districts (Collier, Hendry, Highlands, Indian River, Lake, Marion, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, PAEC, Polk, and Suwannee) that have sent in their information. Their is still time to send in your district's information. Here is what we need:

    • Please enter information specific to your local MEP that relate to preschool services in the corresponding row on the spreadsheet that was emailed to each district. This should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Then...
    • Email the spreadsheet back to the ID&R Office at -
Please return the spreadsheet as soon as possible.

Once we obtain all the district information, the TF plans to post the directory on the webpage mentioned above. The intent is to foster communication across programs and agencies.
